Feminism is essential in the growing contemporary Indian literary context surpassing the regional barriers. The place of women in society has been criticized from time to time. To this end, feminist writings are proliferating in the literary context of Tamil society. All these writings play a major role in the advancement of women in society. Various thinkers have pointed out to the community the plight and misery of women. In that sense, the article takes a look at the feminist ideas of Mahatma Gandhi. The structure of this article is to examine in detail the place of women in society, the status of women, divorces due to dowry and remarriages, mixed marriages, etc.
