ORIENTATIONS AND PEDAGOGICAL FEATURES OF TURKESTAN SCHOOLS (THE SECOND HALF OF THE 19TH CENTURY - THE BEGINNING OF THE 20TH CENTURY)

Description

In the article, it is explained that in organizing the education of the people of Turkestan, the governor general's main attention was focused on the fact that two-thirds of the 3 million inhabitants of the country live in the steppes, they are relatively excluded from the influence of Turkestan khanates, and they are inclined to unite with the peoples of tsarist Russia. At the same time, the actions of the first governor-general of the country K.P. Kaufman regarding the "reform" of public education and its results are analyzed.
