OntoHuman
Description
OntoHuman OpenSource Software.
OntoHuman was an NFDI4Ing Seed Funds project that aimed to extend ontologies with information extracted from documents with a human-in-the-loop component.
Writing and developing ontologies manually is a high effort and, moreover, can only be done by people who have knowledge about the domain being modeled and are proficient in using the modeling tools. It therefore is beneficial to (semi-)automatically enrich ontologies and/or enable domain experts to represent their knowledge without requiring extensive training.
One possible source for enriching ontologies are documents. However, documents are also an important source of information independent of ontology enrichment - in the engineering context, for example, these are data sheets.
These two aspects are combined by OntoHuman - or rather the software components developed here, which built on earlier work of the working group. Through feedback from the NFDI4Ing community, the graphical user interface in particular has also been improved, as well as making the entire application domain-independent. By uploading own ontologies, practically any domain can be supported.
