Türkiye'de 2011-2020 Yılları Arasında Matematiksel Modellemeye İlişkin İlkokul-Ortaokul Düzeyinde Yapılmış Çalışmalardaki Eğilimler: Bir İçerik Analizi

Description

The aim of this research is to determine the trends in studies on mathematical modeling in Turkey between the years 2011–2020. In this research, which was carried out with the content analysis method, a total of 98 studies consisting of articles and postgraduate theses were examined. In the study, the Mathematical Modeling Studies Review Form created by the researchers in the Microsoft Excel program was utilized as a data collection tool. The obtained data were analyzed using the SPSS package program. The results of the research showed the following: most of the studies consisted of articles, there was an increase in the number of studies over the years, and almost all of the studies were written in Turkish. Notably, mathematical modeling is most associated with mathematical success in studies, and the variable most affected by mathematical modeling is academic achievement. In addition, it was determined that most of the articles included in the research were scanned in the ULAKBİM TR Index. In the studies, the qualitative method was mainly used. As the research design, it was determined that case study, quasiexperimental design, and action research designs were respectively used the most. In the studies, mostly teacher candidates and secondary school students were used as sample/study groups. It was determined that purposeful sampling method was mostly used in the studies and the studies were mostly carried out with sample/study groups not exceeding 40 people. Interview, document review, and observation were the data collection tools. It was determined that descriptive analysis and content analysis were mostly used as data analysis techniques.
