The article examines the development of a network of cultural and educational institutions in the Central Chernozem region in 1928-1934. The source base of the article was the materials of the State Archive of Socio-Political History of the Voronezh Region, the State Archive of the Voronezh Region and the State Archive of the Russian Federation. Based on primary sources, the article examines the work of clubs and red corners. The paper examines the structure of club organizations, their hierarchy, organizational structure and areas of responsibility. Examples of club work, both of an ideological orientation and of an entertainment nature, are given. The article analyzes such problems of clubs during the cultural revolution as personnel shortage, lack of funding and equipment. In conclusion, it is concluded that the club work in 1928-1934 achieved significant progress in the Central Chernozem region. However, despite the increase in the number of club institutions, there were not enough of them, and they could not satisfy the cultural needs of society. The club organizations of the Central Chernozem region played an important role in the processes of the cultural revolution, including in the elimination of illiteracy, the dissemination of technical knowledge and cultural norms.
