STUDIES ON GUM JEOL (LANNEA GRANDIS, ENGLER). PART VI. INFLUENCE OF NEUTRAL SALTS ON SOME ELECTRO-CHEMICAL AND VISCOUS PROPERTIES

Influence of neutral salts with cations and anions of different valencies on the pH, specific conductance and relative viscosity of gum jeol solutions have been examined. Both cations and anions show a tendency towards an increase of pH at low concentrations followed by a marked depression at higher concentrations. Specific conductance does not show any point of special interest, while relative viscosity shows peculiar variations with ions having different valencies.
