Stability and Electrokinetic Potential of Nickel Ferrocyanide Sol

Description
A well-dialysed nickel ferrocyanide Rol has been prepared and the electrokinetio potential has been determined by electro-osmotic as well as electrophoretic methods. Correction for surface conductance has been applied by using an equation of the form 1/ζ2= 1/ζ+ \(m/S\). The true C-potential for rapid rate of coagulation has been found to be somewhat leas than that obtained for the slow rate. The data lead to the eonclusion that a given rate of coagulation is characterised by a definite value of true ζ-potential, independent a valency of the coagulating ions used.
