Drosophila subobscura Collin, 1936: 60. Syntypes, males & females. England (Slough; South Devon: Totnes, Dartington Hall)
(OUMNH).
Distribution: NE: USA (Washington to California). NT: Argentina, Chile. PA: Egypt, Europe (Widespread), Israel, Lebanon, Tunisia.
Egyptian localities: Coastal Strip: Alexandria. Lower Nile Valley & Delta: Cairo (Burla & Bächli 1978; Bächli et al. 1982).
Dates of collection: March & April (Bächli et al. 1982).
