Genus Philonicus Loew, 1849
Philonicus Loew, 1849 Loew (1849: 144).
Type species: Asilus albiceps Meigen, 1820 Meigen (1820: 312).
The one Korean species. Philonicus albiceps is typical of the genus with the distinct male epandrial lobes (Fig. 12) and spines on the female cerci (Fig. 66).
