Terpenoids: Part. XLI. Syntheses of trans-2, 6 -Farnesol and trans-Nerolidol.
Description
Starting from trans-geranylacetone, obtained through the Claisen rearrangement of properly substituted vinyl ether followed by Wittig reaction with isopropyltriphenylphosphonium iodide and deketalisation, new syntheses of trans-2,6-farnesoi and trans-nerolidol have been accomplished.
