DMRs induced by drought, cold, heat, herbivory, rust infection and salicylic acid in the Lombardi poplar

  • 1. NIOO-KNAW

Description

We aimed to provide a comprehensive characterization of the stress-induced DNA methylation variation in the Lombardi poplar. We made use of a recent reference genome assembly for this particular clone in order to examine DNA methylation responses to a variety of abiotic (drought, cold, heat) and abiotic (herbivory, rust infection, salicylic acid) stresses. Since we sampled adult trees sampled across Europe, we were particularly interested to determine consistent stress-induced changes irrespective of the different methylation backgrounds from where the cuttings originated.

Annotations are based on the de novo reference genome of the Populus nigra cv. Italica clone uploaded in the ENA project: PRJEB44889. Bisulfite sequencing data can be found under the ENA project: PRJEB51831
