Abstract

Forest damage is one of the things that must be overcome and requires the involvement of various parties, both the government and the community. In this regard, the government makes a strategy to prevent forest destruction, namely through social forestry schemes. The city of Sabang has applied the concept of community-based forest management through the Community Forest scheme located in Sukakarya District. The existence of Community Forests will affect the social and ecological aspects of the community. So the purpose of this research is to find out the social and ecological impacts and to see the community's response regarding the existence of the Aneuk Glee Community Forest. The method used in this research is descriptive method for social indicators and spatial analysis method for ecological indicators. Determination of the sample in this study using purposive sampling based on considerations that focus on certain goals. The results of the research that have been carried out are the Aneuk Glee Community Forest has social indicators at a moderate level which means that there are still obstacles in the process of empowering members of the Aneuk Glee forest farmer group (KTH Aneuk Glee) and the surrounding community in terms of access to information, decision-making processes and potential utilization. resource. Meanwhile, the ecological indicators are also at a moderate level, which means that there is an increase in stands and forested area and there is a forest management plan.
