(WEASELS AND RELATIVES)

• Small- to medium-sized mammals with long bodies and short limbs.

• 13-195 cm.

• Holarctic, Neotropical, African, and Oriental regions.

• Forests, grasslands, tundras and oceans, from the Arctic to the tropics.

• 22 genera, 57 species, at least 217 extant taxa.

• 7 species Endangered, 5 species Vulnerable; 1 species Extinct since 1600.
