Terra typica: [Europe, N America] “in Europa; in America septentrionali” (Linnaeus 1758).

Scolopendra forficata Linnaeus, 1758: 638.

Lithobius (Lithobius) forficatus Farzalieva & Esyunin, 2008: 926 (20 ♂♂, 29 ♀♀); Dyachkov et al., 2016: 440 (1 ♂, 1 ♀); Dyachkov, 2019: 14 (5 ♂♂, 4 ♀♀); Nefediev et al., 2016: 261 (more 100: ♂ ♀); 2020b: 11 (1 ♂, 3 ♀); Prado et al., 2018: 560.

Previous records. Kazakhstan: Almaty Region — Almaty City [Kz13],Trans-Ili Alatau Mt.Range, Malaya Almatinka [Kz10], Kazakchka [Kz11], Butakovka [Kz12] river valleys, East Kazakhstan Region —Shemonaikha Town [Kz43], Altai Town [Kz44], Ulken-Naryn Village [Kz45], Kyzylorda Region —vicinity of Abay Village [Kz55] (Dyachkov et al. 2016; Dyachkov 2019), and Kostanay Region —Kostanay Town [Kz49a] (Bragina et al. 2020).

Habitat records. Gardens, open hand-made grounds on 400–500 m (Dyachkov et al. 2016); garden on 308 m; paddy fields with Orýza (Dyachkov 2019).

Remarks. It seems, introduced in Kazakhstan species.

Widespread as human introduction (N and S America, Greenland, Europe, W Siberia, Mongolia, and Japan) (Zalesskaja 1978; Farzalieva 2008; Tuf et al. 2015; Nefediev et al. 2016; Zuev & Evsyukov 2016; Prado et al. 2018; Hirakizawa & Yamauchi 2021).
