Description

1. Dzhungaria gigantea Farzalieva, Zalesskaja & Edgecombe, 2004

Type locality: [Kazakhstan, Almaty Region] Dzhungarsky Alatau Mts, 6 km NE Rudnichnyi, Koksu River Canyon, N44°41', E78°58', 1300–1400 m [Kz5] (Farzalieva et al. 2004).

Dzhungaria gigantea Farzalieva et al., 2004: 223 (18 ♂♂, 7 ♀♀).

Dzhungaria gigantea — Koch & Edgecombe, 2008: 162–169; Zapparoli & Edgecombe, 2011: 377; Shear, 2018: 280; Dyachkov, 2019: 9 (4 ♂♂, 3 ♀♀).

Previous records. Kazakhstan: Almaty Region —Dzhungarian Alatau Mts, between Aksu and Krasnyi Yar rivers [Kz1], Burkhansartay Mt. Range [Kz2], Ermenesay River Valley [Kz3, Kz3a], between Ermenesay and Koksay rivers [Kz4] (Dyachkov 2019), Koksu [Kz5], Chornaya [Kz6], and Tyshkan [Kz7] river canyons (Farzalieva et al. 2004).

Habitat records. Forests: Betula, Populus, Picea, Malus on 1200–1400 m, Picea with Salix, Berberis etc. bush on 1700–1800 m (Farzalieva et al. 2004); stony steppe with shrub thickets on 1700–1800 m; stony meadow on 2150 m; stony alpine meadow on 2900–3000 m; stony mountain tundra on 3000–3100 m; unknown habitat on 3000 m (Dyachkov 2019).

Remarks. Known from SE Kazakhstan, Almaty Region, only.
