Oriental region (3 species, see Chaudhuri et al. 2001): P. a r a t r u m Chaudhuri et Chattopadhyay, 1990; P. diutinistylum Dutta et Chaudhuri, 1996; P. sacculiferum Chaudhuri et Chattopadhyay, 1990. Australasian region (1 species, see Cranston & Martin 1989): P. angustum (Freeman, 1961). Male diagnosis: As in Cranston et al. (1989) with the following corrections: wing length 1.0–3.3 mm; AR 1.1–3.0; frontal tubercles usually present, occasionally absent; inferior volsella bearing long setae, setae occasionally absent.
Ecology: Larvae of Paracladopelma occur in sandy substrata in rivers, streams and lakes.
