Pompilus pectinipes var. campestris Wesmael 1851: 466, Ψ ♂ [lectotype—Ψ (designated by Wahis 1954: 93), Belgium]. Junior subjective synonym of Psammochares crassicornis (Shuckard 1837) according to Haupt 1941: 177.

Pompilus Dalbomi (!) Thomson 1870: 223 ("Temligen allmän" [Sweden]). Junior subjective synonym of Pompilus campestris Wesmael 1851 according to Kohl 1886: 324.

Hosts. Arachnospila (Ammosphex) anceps (Wesmael 1851), Arachnospila (Ammosphex) consobrina (Dahlbom 1843), Arachnospila (Anoplochares) minutula (Dahlbom 1842), and probably Arachnospila (Ammosphex) trivialis (Dahlbom1843) and Anoplius (Anoplius) nigerrimus (Scopoli 1763) (v.d. Smissen 2003).
