Description

Hoplopisthius (Hoplopisthius) Senna, 1892

Diagnosis. Head (Fig. 20) with a basal notch, temples very short; vertex, frons and metarostrum glabrous in male (Fig. 20), with whitish pubescent area in female (Fig. 22). Venter of head quite bulged, not grooved (Fig. 21). Underside of profemora with a strong brush of thick hair (Fig. 24); upper side of metafemora strongly grooved. Metasternum slightly carinate on the sides, especially in male. Elytral interstria 2 present only on the rear part; interstria 8 abruptly interrupted at the apex, forming a tooth (Fig. 26); apex of elytra not in shape of "forceps" but with the first interstria strongly projecting rearward (Fig. 26). Sternites V–VI of abdomen (Fig. 27) with three small basal notches; sternite VII (Fig. 27) with basal notch, apical fovea and two latero-apical depressions. Tergite VIII of female (Fig. 28) not denticulate at the apex.
