Description

Folsomia pseudodecemoculata Stebaeva, 1971

Discussion. The species is easy to identify by 5 black ocelli and short chaetae on body. A form with unpigmented ommatidia often occurs among normal specimens.

Distribution and ecology. The species is distributed in arid areas of S Siberia (Khakassia, Altai, Tuva, Chita area). It was recorded in Burytia by Chimitova et al. (2010) (Fig. 1: loc. 2). Only in steppes, penetrates to salty places, very rare in dry forests.
