Eupithecia (Pena) kawakamiana Matsumura, 1925, Journal of the College of Agriculture, Hokkaido Imperial University 15 (3): 172, pl. 11: 19. Syntypes 2♀ (EIHU), [Russia]: Saghalien (synonymised in Prout, 1939).
Eupithecia hoenei Vojnits, 1976, Acta zoologica Academiae Scientiarum Hungaricae 22 (1–2): 208, figs 1c, 2f. Holotype ♂ (TTM, examined), [China]: Shensi Prov(ince), Mien-shan, 2000 m (synonymised in Mironov & Galsworthy, 2013).
Eupithecia tuvinica Viidalepp, 1976, Nasekomye Mongolii 4: 392, figs 18, 41–47. Holotype ♂ (IAET, examined), USSR [Russia]: Tuvinskaya ASSR [Tuva], near Kyzyl town (synonymised in Mironov, 1990).
Eupithecia sachalini Vojnits, 1981, Annales historico-naturales Musei Nationalis Hungarici 73: 234, figs 11(nec 19), 17. Holotype ♂ (TTM, examined), [Russia]: Sahhalin [= Sakhalin], Tomovsk [= Tymovskoje] (synonymised in Mironov, 1990).
Unavailable name (incorrect subsequent spelling): bochathi: Vasilenko (1999).
A widespread East Asian species, occurring from Tibet in the west through Mongolia and southern Siberia to Kamchatka, Sakhalin and Korea in the east. Added to the fauna of Mongolia by Moucha (1967). Mongolia (aimags): Dornod, Khentii, Tuv.
