Description

23. Rhipicephalus sanguineus (Latreille, 1806)

Host/Habitat. Bos taurus (cattle), Canis lupus familiaris (dog), Felis catus (cat) Hemiechinus auritus (long-eared hedghog), Lepus sinensis,, Lepus yarkandensis (Yarkand hare), Ovis aries (sheep), Vulpes sp. (fox).

Distribution. Shanxi (Teng 1978; Teng & Jiang 1991; Zhang et al. 1991; Liu et al. 1996); Taiyuan (Huang 1960); Qingyuan, Ruicheng, Wenxi, Xiaxian, Xinjiang, Yongji, Yuncheng: Xiezhou, Yuncheng (Liu et al. 2005).

Remarks. Huang (1960) recorded the species as Rhipicephalus sanguinwus [sic] (Ltrreill [sic], 1804) and Rhipicephalas [sic] sanguineus [sic].
