Synalpheus townsendi Coutière, 1909

Material examined. 1 n-ov. female, Ilha de Santa Bárbara (17°57’28”S 38°42’19”W), coll. R.M.C. Barbosa & L.M. Fernandes, 31.viii. 2013, 11 m, in sponges, UESC 1564; 1 n-ov. female, same collection data, in coral rubble, UESC 1565.

Distribution. Western Atlantic—Bermuda, North Carolina to Florida and Texas, Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea and Brazil (Atol das Rocas, Ceará, Alagoas, Bahia, Espírito Santo, Rio de Janeiro) (Chace 1972; Williams 1984; Christoffersen 1979, 1998; Bezerra & Coelho 2006, as S. sanctithomae Coutière, 1909; Anker et al. 2012).
