Description

Parapiophila fulviceps (Holmgren)

NBP/NIS material examined. 43 ♂, 30 ♀ from the following sites: Northwest Territories: Banks Island; Nunavut: Cambridge Bay, Kugluktuk, Lake Hazen; Quebec: Schefferville; Yukon Territory: North Fork Pass (vi.1962; vi–vii.2011; vi–viii.2010) (CNC, LEM).

Comments. Parapiophila fulviceps was previously recorded in Alaska and Manitoba in the Nearctic (Sabrosky 1958; Steyskal 1965) and in northwest Russia in the Palaearctic (Ozerov 2004b). The species is now known to be more widespread in northern Canada based on NIS and NBP specimens.
