Arctopiophila arctica Holmgren

Description

Arctopiophila arctica (Holmgren)

NBP/NIS material examined. 40 ♂, 31 ♀ from the following sites: Northwest Territories: Banks Island; Nunavut: Cambridge Bay, Iqaluit, Kugluktuk, Lake Hazen; Yukon Territory: North Fork Pass (vi–viii.1952; vi–ix.1948; vii.2011) (CNC, LEM).

Comments. Arctopiophila arctica has been recorded from the high arctic and subarctic in both the Nearctic (Steyskal 1965; McAlpine 1977) and Palaearctic regions (Ozerov 2004b). We recorded it at all four high arctic sites, and two subarctic sites: North Fork Pass and Kugluktuk.
