Polygenis (Polygenis) rimatus

Description

Polygenis (Polygenis) rimatus (Jordan, 1932)

NHM. Paraguay, Sapucay. Mammalia—Didelphimorphia—Didelphidae— Didelphis sp. Brazil; Paraguay; Peru; Argentina—Buenos Aires: Arroyo La Matanza, Bonifacio, Chasicó, Chivilcoy, Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, Delta del Paraná, Hudson Natural Reserve, La Rica, Los Yngleses, Luján, Magdalena, Miramar, Parque Provincial Pereyra Iraola, Partido General Pueyrredon, Pergamino, Punta Lara, Ramallo Reserve, Sierra de la Ventana, Villa Ballester. Chubut: Bahía Cracker, Bajo los Huesos, Puerto Lobos. Formosa. La Rioja. Misiones: Parque Provincial Urugua-í. Neuquén: Calle América del Sur. San Juan: Jachal. Santiago del Estero. “Gran Chaco”. Mammalia—Didelphimorphia—Didelphidae— Didelphis albiventris, Didelphis aurita, Lutreolina crassicaudata. Rodentia—Caviidae— Cavia aperea, Microcavia australis. Cricetidae— Abrawayaomys chebezi, Akodon azarae, Akodon dolores, Akodon iniscatus, Calomys laucha, Calomys musculinus, Deltamys kempi, Eligmodontia typus, Graomys griseoflavus, Oligoryzomys flavescens, Oligoryzomys longicaudatus, Oligoryzomys nigripes, Oxymycterus rufus, Necromys obscurus, Reithrodon auritus, Scapteromys aquaticus. Muridae— Rattus norvegicus, Rattus rattus. Sciuridae— Callosciurus erythraeus. Soricomorpha—Soricidae: Neomys fodiens. Lareschi & Linardi (2005) noticed morphological differences between specimens from disjoint localities in Brazil and Argentina; those from Argentina correspond to the description of the species, with the exception of the only specimen from Misiones Province ex A. chebezi, which resembles those from Brazil and probably constitutes a new species (Pardiñas et al. In press). The record on N. fodiens must be erroneous, since Soricomorpha does not occur in Argentina. Gozzi et al. (2013), Sanchez & Lareschi (2013).
