Neostasina siempreverde sp. nov.

Type material: Holotype: ♂, Cuba, Holguín, La Melba, Moa [20°39’N, 74°09’W], 24 September 1997, Sanchez leg. (MNHNCu).

Paratypes: 1♂, same vial as holotype (MNHNCu); 1♂, Cuba, Guantanamo, Maisí, Sobana [20°14’N, 74°09’W], 1 April 1998, A. Sanchez leg. (MNHNCu).

Etymology. The specific name is a noun taken from the Spanish language meaning “evergreen” and refers to the type of vegetation found in the type locality.

Diagnosis. Males of N. siempreverde sp. nov. resemble those of N. iberia sp. nov. (Fig. 74) in the dRTA bifid (Fig. 134). They are distinguished from this species by the shape of the dRTA with one branch three times longer than wide and the other smaller and triangular in retrolateral view (Fig. 134). They are further distinguished from the other species of the genus by the vRTA cylindrical, pointed and sinuous in ventral view, by the eRTA long, cylindrical with rounded tip and by the tegular protrusion triangular (Figs 133−134). Females are unknown.

Description. Male (MNHNCu, holotype): Prosoma pale orange brown with brown margins and faint brown lines extending posteriorly from PME and along thoracic striae. Fovea brown. Eye borders black. Chelicerae pale orange brown. Legs and pedipalps orange. Sternum pale yellow with pale orange margins. Endites pale orange, distally pale yellow. Labium pale brown, distally pale yellow. Opisthosoma cream colored with scattered brown spots. Total length 6.7. Prosoma: 3.2 long, 2.8 wide. Opisthosoma: 3.4 long, 2.0 wide. Eyes: diameters: 0.24, 0.20, 0.15, 0.19; interdistances: 0.14, 0.04, 0.28, 0.19, 0.11, 0.05. Legs (2143): I: 13.7 (3.7, 1.5, 4.0, 3.5, 1.0); II: 14.3 (4.0, 1.6, 4.0, 3.7, 1.0); III: 10.8 (3.7, 0.9, 2.6, 2.9, 2.7); IV: 12.5 (4.0, 1.3, 3.1, 4.1, 1.0). Palp: VTA small, situated medially; eRTA three times longer than wide; median apophysis arising from tegulum at 3 o’clock position; conductor with same width throughout its entire length; TBC large, conical, pointing disto-retrolaterally; Embolus filiform, arising from tegulum at 7 o’clock position; TBE long and retrolaterally curved with short, distal groove and subdistal ventral keel (Figs 132−135).

Female: unknown.

Variation. Males (n = 3): total length 6.7−7.7; prosoma length 3.2−3.7; femur I length 3.7−4.4.

Distribution. Known from Holguín and Guantanamo, Cuba (Map 3).

Remarks. See N. montegordo sp. nov.
