Meteorus colon (Haliday, 1835)
Distribution in Iran. Kermanshah (Ghahari et al. 2010c as Meteorus luridus Ruthe), Guilan (Farahani and Talebi 2012; Sedighi and Madjdzadeh 2015).
Distribution outside Iran. Frequent in many European countries (Papp 2011–2012). Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, China, Czech Republic, Finland, Georgia, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, Moldova, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, former Yugoslavia (Yu et al. 2012), Belgium (Wesmael 1835 as Perilitus fragilis; Yu et al. 2012), Croatia (Papp 2010; Yu et al. 2012), Denmark (Stigenberg and Ronquist 2011; Yu et al. 2012), France (Yu et al. 2012; Stigenberg and Shaw 2013), Hungary (Yu et al. 2012; Stigenberg 2013; Stigenberg and Shaw 2013), Mongolia (Papp 2009b), Montenegro (Papp 2010), Norway (Yu et al. 2012; Stigenberg and Hansen 2013), Turkey (Yilmaz et al. 2010; Yu et al. 2012), UK (Marshall 1885 as Meteorus luridus; Marshall 1887 as M. fragilis and as M. luridus; Broad and Shaw 2009; Yu et al. 2012; Stigenberg 2013; Stigenberg and Shaw 2013).
Host records. It is reported as a parasitoid of Eupithecia venosata (Fabricius) (Lepidoptera: Geometridae), Diarsia brunnea (Denis & Schiffermüller) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) (Marshall 1885). Rougeot (1971) reported Saturnia pavonia (Linnaeus) (Lepidoptera: Saturniidae) as a host for Meteorus colon. It has been It has been also reared from Limenitis camilla (Linnaeus) (Lepidoptera: Nymphalidae), Anticollis sparsata (Treitschke), Hydriomena furcata Thunberg, Xanthorhoe biriviata Borkhausen (Lepidoptera: Geometridae), Diarsia brunnea (Denis & Schiffermüller), Orthosia gothica (Linnaeus), O. cerasi Fabricius, Pseudoips prisinana (Linnaeus),? Xestia agathina (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) ((Stigenberg 2013; Stigenberg and Shaw 2013).
