Pinnixa aidae Righi 1967: 99.
Material examined. Brazil, Ceará: 1 male, LIMCE-UFC 532, Icapuí, Praia de Tremembé, sand-mud flat, in burrow of Callichirus major, suction pump, coll. P.P.G. Pachelle, 19.viii.2012.
Distribution. Western Atlantic: Trinidad & Tobago to Brazil (Amapá, Pará, Ceará, Rio Grande do Norte, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Alagoas, Sergipe, Bahia, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Rio Grande do Sul) (Coelho 1997b; Melo 1998, Coelho 2005; Coelho et al. 2008; Almeida et al. 2010; present study).
Remarks. The single male specimen from Ceará generally matches the diagnosis of A. aidae in Coelho (1997b, as Pinnixa aidae), for instance, in lacking branchial carinae on the anterolateral margins of the carapace.
