Oryba Walker, 1863. Type species: Oryba flaviplaga Walker, 1863.
Orybina Snellen, 1895. Type species: Oryba flaviplaga Walker, 1863. Hirayamaia Marumo, 1917. Type species: Oryba regalis Leech, 1889.
Adult. Wingspan 24.0–43.0 mm. Frons covered with smooth scales. Labial palpus in male rostriform (Fig. 9), about two times as long as head, third segment rounded or pointed at apex; labial palpus in female (Fig. 10) slenderer than in male, about three to four time as long as head. Maxillary palpus brush-shaped in male, filiform in female. Antenna with a row of cilia along anterior margin. Forewing broad; ground color reddish-brown or saffron, with a yellow spots, indistinct or absent in some species; postmedial line conspicuous. Hindwing broad triangular, with conspicuous postmedial line. Venation (Fig. 11): forewing with R3 to apex, R3 and R4 stalked, R5 stalked with R3+4, R3+4+5 and M1 short-stalked at base, M2 and M3 stalked or approximated at lower angle of cell, 1A+2A furcated at base; hindwing with Sc+R1 and Rs adjacent at middle of Sc+R1, Rs and M1 short-stalked, M2 and M3 from lower angle of cell.
Male genitalia. Uncus triangular or tongue-shaped. Gnathos lateral arms bandlike, distal process rod-shaped or thorn-shaped. Valva broad, usually enlarged at apex; clasper present. Juxta oval, concave on posterior margin. Phallus cylindrical, with sclerotized plate of varied shape distally; cornutus absent.
Female genitalia. Apophyses anteriores slightly longer than apophyses posteriores. Antrum usually funnelshaped, bursal ring well-sclerotized; ductus bursae membranous, longer than corpus bursae, usually coiled. Corpus bursae ovate, signum absent.
Diagnosis. Orybina is superficially similar to Trebania Ragonot, 1891 in the labial palpus with the second and third segments triangular or rostriform. However, Orybina can be distinguished from Trebania by having the forewing with a conspicuous spot placed at or below costa on the inner margin of the postmedial line (absent in Trebania), the triangular or tongue-shaped uncus (oval in Trebania), and the sturdy phallus without cornutus in male genitalia (slim and having cornutus in Trebania).
