Holotype. HNHM Pseud.-838: ♂ “ Tyrannochthonius mahunkai n. sp. ♂, Holotypus, dét. V. Mahnert, 7.1978”, “Congo-Brazzaville [Republic of the Congo], Sibiti, [leg.] Balogh-Zicsi, 25.XI.1963; No. 234” [Institut de Recherches Pour les Huiles et Oléagineux (IRHO), rainforest, sample from decaying Monocotyledon].
Paratypes. HNHM Pseud.-839: 1 ♂ “ Tyrannochthonius mahunkai n. sp. ♂, Paratypus, dét. V. Mahnert, 7.1977”, “Congo-Brazzaville [Republic of the Congo], Sibiti, [leg.] Balogh-Zicsi, 1.XII.1963; No. 316” [IRHO rainforest, leaf litter]. HNHM Pseudoscorp-837: 1♂, 2♀, 2 tritonymphs “ Tyrannochthonius mahunkai n. sp. 1 ♂, 2 ♀, 2 T, Paratypen, dét. V. Mahnert, 7.1978”, “Congo-Brazzaville [Republic of the Congo], Sibiti, [leg.] Balogh- Zicsi, 1.XII.1963; No. 317” [IRHO rainforest, pitfall-trap].
Current status. Valid, as Tyrannochthonius mahunkai Mahnert, 1978.
Remark. Further paratypes were deposited in NHMG.
