Diagnosis. Ariadna pilifera is similar to A. bicolor, A. comata and A. weaveri due to the morphology of the male palp (Figs 13A‒B, 28A‒B, 42A‒B) and macrosetae pattern of the tibia II of females, but differ by the presence of males with the metatarsi I with two conspicuous lateral conical apophyses, one on each side, bearing one macrosetae in the base of the retrolateral one, and no macrosetae on the prolateral one (Fig. 27C‒E); females differ from A. bicolor by the presence of a dorsal lobe shorter than the ventral lobe, from A. weaveri by the expanded ventral lobe, and from A. comata by the ventral lobe shorter and less sinuous (Fig. 28C‒D).
