Diagnosis. Ariadna boesenbergi is similar to A. crassipalpa, A. mollis, A. calilegua, A. changellkuk, A. levii and A. perkinsi due to the dark abdominal pattern with arrow-shaped marks (Figs 1A‒C, 18A, F, 20A, F, 22A, F, 31A, E, 45A, F, 47A, F, 50A, F), but differ, except A. changellkuk, by the presence of males with metatarsi I straight, without modified macrosetae (Fig. 22C‒E); it differs from A. changellkuk by having a less elongated body (Fig. 22A‒B) and a more elongated mid-portion and embolus (Fig. 23A‒B); females are distinguished by the presence of a unillobulated anterior receptaculum, flattened laterally (Fig. 23C‒D).

Description. Male (IBSP 166778). Carapace and chelicerae reddish brown (Fig. 22A). Endites brownish yellow; labium dark brownish yellow. Sternum brownish yellow, with darker margins, marbled with dark pigment, and three pairs of dark marginal areas, the hind one fainted (Fig. 22B). Palps brownish orange (Fig. 23A‒B). Legs brownish yellow, pairs I‒II darker with dark pigment forming diffuse rings in the distal region of metatarsus and tarsus (Fig. 22C‒E). Abdomen withish grey, with a conspicuous dark dorsal pattern comprising arrow-shaped marks (Fig. 22A‒B). Total length 6.64; carapace 3.4 long, 2.16 wide. Chelicerae not projected (Fig. 22A). Palps: bulb elliptical, mid-portion slightly shorter than the embolus; embolus tubular, tapered, and abruptly curved; tibia short and slightly incrassated, almost cylindrical, with the dorso-ventral diameter almost equal to the bulb (Fig. 23A‒B). Legs: robust and coated with setae (Fig. 22C‒E); tarsal brush of putative chemosensory setae present in legs I‒IV, but reduced in legs I, III and IV. Leg formula: I-II-IV-III. Leg measurements: I, femur 3.16, patella 1,.2, tibia 2.6, metatarsus 3.04, tarsus 0.8, total 10.8; II, 2.88, 1.16, 2.6, 2.8, 0.76, 10.2; III, 2.0, 0.96, 1.56, 1.84, 0.64, 7.0; IV, 2.56, 1.24, 2.04, 2.0, 0.6, 8.44. Macrosetae: I, femur D0-0-0-1-1-1/0-2-0, P0-0-0-0-0-2-1-0; tibia P0-1-0-1- 0-1-0, vp1-0-1-0-1-0-1, vr2-0-1-0-1-0-1, R1-1-1-1-1-1-0; metatarsus p0-1-0-0-0-0-0-0, vp0-1-0-0-1-0-0-1, vr0-1- 0-0-1-0-0-1, r0-1-0-0-0-0-0-0 (Fig. 22C‒E); II, femur D0-0-1-1-1-0-2-0, P0-0-0-0-0-1-1-0; tibia P0-1-0-1-0-1-0, vp1-0-1-0-1-0-1, vr2-0-1-0-1-0-1, R1-1-0/1-1-0/1-1-0; metatarsus p0-1-0-0-0-0-0-0, vp0-1-0-0-1-0-0-1, vr0-1-0-0- 1-0-0-1, r0-1-0-1-0-1-0-0; IV, femur D0/1-1-1-0-1-1-0-1-0-0-0; tibia vp0-0/1-0-0-0-0-0, vr0-0-0-0-0-0-0/1; metatarsus vp0-0-0/1-0-0-0-2, vr metatarsal comb with 4 macrosetae.

Female (IBSP 166779). Carapace and chelicerae brown, with cephalic region darker (Fig. 22F). Endites brown; labium dark brown. Sternum brownish orange, with darker margins, marbled with dark pigment, and three pairs of dark marginal areas (Fig. 22G). Palps brownish yellow, with tibia and tarsus reddish. Legs brownish yellow, with pairs I‒II darker. Metatarsus and tarsus of legs I‒II darker than the other segments. Dark pigment forming diffuse rings in the distal region of tibia, metatarsus and tarsus, of legs I‒II (Fig. 22I ‒J). Abdomen as in male (Fig. 22F‒G). Total length 9.88; carapace 4.44 long, 2.68 wide. Chelicerae not projected (Fig. 22F). Legs: robust and densely coated with setae, mainly on the ventral region of pairs I‒III; legs I‒II with ventro-prolateral and ventro-retrolateral tibial macrosetae of similar size, and metatarsal macrosetae of different sizes (Fig. 22I ‒J). Leg formula: I-II-IV-III. Leg measurements: I, femur 3.04, patella 1.52, tibia 2.36, metatarsus 2.32, tarsus 0.76, total 10.0; II, 2.76, 1.48, 2.32, 2.16, 0.68, 9.4; III, 2.16, 1.24, 1.48, 1.52, 0.6, 7.0; IV, 2.8, 1.56, 2.16, 1.8, 0.64, 8.96. Macrosetae: I, femur P0-0-0-0-0-1-0; tibia vp1-0-1-0-1-0-1, vr1-0-1-0-1-0-1, R0-1-0-0-0-0-0; metatarsus vp1-1-0/ 1-1-1-1-1-1, vr1-1-1-1-1-1-1 (Fig. 22I ‒J); II, femur D0-0-0-0-0-0/2-0, P0-0-0-0-1-1-0; tibia P0-0-0-0/1-0-0/1-0, vp1-0-1-0-1-0-1, vr1-0-1-0-1-0-1; metatarsus vp1-1-0/1-1-1-1-1-1, vr0/1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1; IV, femur D0-1-1-0-0- 0-0; metatarsus vp0-0-0-0-0-0-1, vr metatarsal comb with 4 macrosetae. Genital external plate wide and conspicuous, occupying 1/3 of the epigastric region (Fig. 22G‒H). Internal genitalia: anterior receptaculum with the glandular plate rounded (Fig. 23C‒D).

Variation. Male (n=10): Total length 5.12‒7.04; carapace 2.92‒3.52 long, 2.0‒2.48 wide; femur I 2.44‒3.4. Female (n=10): Total length 8.72‒11.64; carapace 3.84‒4.88 long, 2.44‒3.08 wide; femur I 2.64‒3.4.
