Description

The dataset contains clinical and instrumental data collected from 102 patients with idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus (iNPH) showing neither significant levodopa response nor signs of atypical parkinsonism. Clinical features included total and subitem scores of the MDS-UPDRS III, and total and subitem scores of the iNPH rating scale.

MRI findings included Evans’ index, flow void sign, and DESH. At baseline, 92 iNPH patients underwent FP-CIT SPECT, which was repeated two years later in 58 cases. SPECT findings were evaluated as specific binding ratio (SBR) at the level of putamen and caudate nucles, bilaterally.

Fifty-nine patients underwent shunt surgery. Both cohorts of patients who did or did not undergo shunt surgery were clinically followed up one and two years after baseline. Clinical assessment at follow-up included total and subitem scores of the MDS-UPDRS III, and total and subitem scores of the iNPH rating scale.
