Hemibagrus sabanus
Description
Hemibagrus sabanus (Inger & Chin, 1959)? BE
Hemibagrus sabanus (Inger & Chin, 1959)?: Parenti & Meisner, 2003: 45 (middle Belait).
Remarks. Hemibagrus sabanus seems restricted to the drainages in eastern Sabah (Ng & Kottelat, 2013b: 214), and is unlikely to occur in Brunei. A likely candidate for misidentification could be Hemibagrus semotus Ng & Kottelat (2013b: 215) which occurs in western Sabah, close to the border with Brunei, but not recorded from within Brunei. As we have not seen the Belait specimens, we are unable to determine their identity.
