(3Z, 6Z, 9Z)-3,6.9-Nonadecatriene and (3Z, 6Z, 9Z)-3,6,9-heneicosatriene female sex pheromones of Boarmia selenaria and Utetheisa ornatrix respectively are synthesised via coupling reaction of Grignard reagents of the appropriate bromides with 11 using Li₂ CuCl₄ as catalyst in THF.
