Viscosity B-coefficients of a number of drugs, viz. hydrochlorides of promethazine, chlorpromazine, papaverine, ephedrine, pseudoephedrine and isoxsuprine, in water have been determined, and found to be fairly high. The solvation numbers, single ion viscosity B-coefficients (B+) show that the cations of promethazine, chlorpromazine and papaverine are highly solvated due to hydrophobic hydrations whereas other cations are relatively less solvated.
