A bimetallic dioxomolybdenum(VI) complex containing coordinated dihydrazone in staggered configuration

The reaction between bis(acctylacetonato)dioxomolybdenum(VI) and bis(2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde)malonoyldihydrazone yields homobimctallic complex [(MoO₂)₂(CH₂L)(H₂O)₂] in which dihydrazonc coordinates to the metal centres in the staggered configuration. The complex undergoes a dynamic process in solution in which the dissociated form remain in equilibrium with the undissociated form.
