Synthetic and structural studies of the transition metal complexes of manganese-, cobalt- and zinc(II) with m-nitrobenzaldehyde-thiosemicarbazone and some neutral ligands

Complexes of the type MLL'2X2, where M = CoII, MnII, L = m-nitrobenzaldehydcthiosemicarbazonc (NBTS), L' = quinoline, isoquinoline, pyridine and \(\gamma\)-picolinc, X = Cl-, Br- and MLL'X, where M = ZnII have been synthesized. The CoII and MnII complexes are paramagnetic and that of ZnII diamagnetic. The ligand coordinates through N and S atoms. Octahedral geometry is suggested for MnII and CoII complexes and tetrahedral for ZnII complex.
