Chemical investigation of the outer layer of the root bark of Rhizophora mucronata Lam of Andaman and Nicobar Islands afforded a rare xanthone, lichixanthone along with atranorin, α-amyrin, β-amyrin, Palmitone, p-silosterol, dimyristyl ketone and β-sitosterol glycoside.
