Esselenichthys laurae

Description

Esselenichthys laurae (Follett & Anderson, 1990).

Twoline Prickleback. To 9.8 cm (3.9 in) SL. Farallon Islands, northern California to Punta Banda, northern Baja California. Benthic; depth: 11–46 m (35–151 ft). All in Follett and Anderson (1990). The original genus name was Esselenia but was preoccupied as a grasshopper name, so Anderson (2003) changed the name to Esselenichthys.
