In recent years, in the world of energy, the hydrogen economy has reached new projects in the future, which propose the massive use of hydrogen in mobility, as a substitute of the traditional fuels petroleum products, primarily gasoline and diesel, in industrial applications where is required a significant amount of energy and as energy storage system, producing hydrogen when the supply of electric power exceeds the demand, and that this hydrogen is produced in a way that respects the environment, so that it contributes to a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. This paper will analyze the prospects and risks of Hydrogen as a source of energy of the future.
