Description
* Petrotyx hopkinsi Heller & Snodgrass, 1903.
Velvetnose Brotula. 22.6 cm (8.9 in) TL (Robertson and Allen 2015). Southern tip of Baja California, Gulf of California to Peru, Islas Galápagos and some other offshore islands (Robertson and Allen 2008). Depth: 3 to at least 18 m (10–60 ft) (min.: Robertson and Allen 2008; max.: Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California).
