Description

Lota lota (Linnaeus, 1758).

Burbot. To 152 cm (59.8 in) TL (Mecklenburg et al. 2002). Circumpolar; to southeastern Alaska (Mecklenburg et al. 2002). Mostly freshwater, but known to occur in brackish waters well to sea of various river mouths during Canadian summer (Renaud in Coad and Reist 2018). Depth: 0.3–300 m (1–984 ft) (Renaud in Coad and Reist 2018).
