Description

Symbolophorus reversus Gago & Ricord, 2005.

Reverse Gland Lanternfish. To 9.5 cm (3.7 in) SL (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California). Eastern and central Pacific Ocean from 28°38’N (Gago and Ricord 2005) to Chile (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California). Depth: almost all specimens have been taken at the surface (Gago and Ricord 2005). One specimen may have been collected from as deep as 1,134 m (3,720 ft) (Gago and Ricord 2005).
