Description

Nannobrachium nigrum Günther, 1887.

To 14.8 cm (5.8 in) SL (Wang et al. 2018). Indo-Pacific; western Pacific Ocean north to Honshu, Japan (Nakabo in Nakabo 2002); as far northward as northern California (40°54’N) (NWFSC-FRAM). Depth: 100–3,841 m (328–12,602 ft) (min.: Mundy 2005; max.: Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California). Considered Lampanyctus niger (Günther, 1887) in Fricke et al. (2020).
