Description
Bathytroctes macrolepis Günther, 1887.
40 cm (15.7 in) SL (Froese and Pauly 2019; note that we were unable to verify this record). Circumglobal; about 290 km (179.8 mi) west of Cape Mendocino, northern California (Stein 1985, as Belocia alvifrons) to Islas Tres Marias (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California); Chile (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California). Depth: about 740 to 5,850 m (2,427 –19,188 ft) (min.: Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California; max.: Sazonov 1999).
