CONTEMPORANUL EUGEN COȘERIU – GENIU AL LINGVISTICII

This year we celebrate the 100th anniversary of Eugen Coșeriu, one of the most illustrious representatives of Romanian genius in the universal fi eld of humanities and social sciences. Linguist, writer, doctor in philology and philosophy, university professor, academician, scientist, for his merits in language studies named “The linguist of the 20th century”, “Colossus from Germany”, “The linguist No. 1”,“Giant of Tübingen”,“King of Linguistics”, he was born in Bessarabia. Eugen Coșeriu is documented in the “National Calendar 2021”, the encyclopedic edition, published by BNRM. “National Calendar” includes reference names from all fi elds, axes on personalities who originated or worked in the Republic of Moldova, as well as on personalities from Romania; to a lesser extent, it includes notorious names of the universal culture and civilization
