Latihan Terapi Wicara dalam Meningkatkan Efektivitas Berkomunikasi Anak Autis

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of speech therapy exercises on the articulation ability of autistic children at SLB-C Catholic Santa Anna Tomohon. The research method used is the Single Subject Research (SSR) approach. The design used is A-B-A'. The research subject is a class II autistic child who has low articulation ability. Data was collected by means of articulation and observation skills tests. The data obtained were analyzed through descriptive statistics and displayed in graphical form. The components analyzed include analysis under conditions and analysis between conditions. The results showed that the analysis of the results of the articulation abilities of the students obtained an overview of the number of abilities to pronounce letters, syllables, and words and obtained the number of articulation errors such as omission, substitution, addition, and distortion. The subject managed to pronounce 26 letters, 21 syllables, and 55 words. Next for articulation errors, the subject made 25 omission errors and 72 substitutions. Subjects experienced omission errors in 20 words, substitution errors in letters 7, syllables 5 words, and 60 words. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that speech therapy exercises are effective in learning articulation for autistic students at SLB-C Catholic Santa Anna Tomohon. The students' articulation ability managed to pronounce 26 letters, 21 syllables, and 55 words. Students have difficulty in pronouncing the letters /b/, /d/, /g/, /m/, /s/, /x/ and /z/, syllables starting with the letters /c/, /k/, /m /, /n/, /r/, and /q. External and internal factors are also very influential in the mastery of articulation for students.
