Rhombognathides pascens

Description

Rhombognathides pascens (Lohmann, 1889)

Report associated with sponges: This species was reported from mud and sediments containing organisms such as sponge (Halicondria sp.), algae (Cystoclonium, Plocanium), pycnogonids, etc., from Helgoland, North Sea (Viets 1927a). This was also reported from sand containing sponge Halicondria sp. along with caprellids, gammarids, ostracods etc. from Bergen, Norway (Viets 1928).

Remarks: This species was found in eastern and western North Atlantic (from the Azores to northern Norway), Baltic Sea, and Black Sea among various substrata (Lohmann 1889; Viets 1927a; Newell 1947; Bartsch 1972, 2009; Green & MacQuitty 1987; Abé 1998).
