Description

This dataset contains samples of Haploniscidae Hansen, 1916 (Isopoda, Crustacea) which were collected around Iceland from 1992- 2020. All samples were obtained from depths between 24 m and 2750 m.

Sampling was conducted during five different projects: BIOICE (Benthic invertebrates of Icelandic waters), IceGE (Icelandic marine Animals: Genetics and Ecology), IceAGE 2 (Icelandic marine Animals: Genetics and Ecology 2), IceAGE RR (Icelandic marine Animals: Genetics and Ecology Reykjanes Ridge) and IceAEGE 3 (Icelandic marine Animals: Genetics and Ecology 3). During the cruises, animals were caught using detritus sledges, triangle dredges, Agassiz trawls or by EBS (Epi benthic sledge).

Three Haploniscidae genera are included in the dataset. Antennuloniscus Menzies, 1962 and Chauliodoniscus Lincoln, 1985 were represented by one species each while Haploniscus Richardson, 1908 was present with ten species.
